 MagoTek Version Numbering System
This document is a brief overview of the version number system used at MagoTek
All products are assigned v1.0 on the initial release. If a product has not been updated, it is 1.0. Sometimes no version number is listed on a product. In this case, you can assume it is 1.0
The version number of a product is incremented partially, with each update. For most products, it increments the second level. ie, v1.0 becomes v1.1
All major updates will use this format.
Occasionally, a product is updated in only a very small way, like changing permissions on an object, or changing one line of code. In these cases, a second level increment is excessive, so the third level is used instead. In this case, v1.0 would become v1.0.1 - A third digit is added.
Lastly, there are only a few cases where the version number is fully incremented, v1.0 becomes v2.0 This case, represents an entirely new product which has evolved from the old one, and are generally not free updates. The only precedent for this so far, is saiyan armours. It is only done when the amount of work deems a reerelease necessary, and the previous version is still supported in such cases.
